Current Board Members

Libby Crockett, MD MPH
Chair
Libby is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist in Grand Island, NE. She got her first taste of advocacy work when she had the opportunity to do a Gellhaus Advocacy Fellowship through ACOG while in residency. Her eyes were opened during that experience to how many major policy decisions are made that directly affect physicians and their patients without any input from physician expertise. During the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic she loved seeing all the active physician advocacy across the state and saw first hand that when physicians became true vocal advocacy leaders in their communities, lives were saved. She has lived most of her life in outstate Nebraska and wants to work to ensure a healthy physician workforce throughout the state, but especially in rural and other underserved locations. She is excited to have the opportunity to help physicians have more autonomy in advocating for themselves and their patients. She firmly believes this is one of the critical ways to improve our healthcare system, prevent physician burnout, and most importantly, improve the health of Nebraskans.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln prior to attending the University of Nebraska College of Medicine for her medical degree, residency and MPH programs. Prior to moving to Grand Island, she was dual appointed faculty at UNMC-Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the College of Public Health.

Before starting at the League, she spent 10 years as an advisor, educator, and program coordinator in higher education, at the University of Kansas, Wichita State University, and Creighton University. She earned a Bachelor or Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Science in Higher Education Administration, both from the University of Kansas. A proud mom of two elementary aged boys, she has served on a variety of Westside Community committees and task forces.

She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry as well as Food Science and Human Nutrition and then went on to complete her Master’s of Human Nutrition at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed her training in Internal Medicine at Creighton University Medical Center. At each step in her training and career she has been involved in the day to day advocacy of patient care within hospital systems, the community, and physician organizations. As the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, it highlighted for her a need for an educational and supportive home for physicians interested in advocacy on behalf of their patients and themselves. Dr. Hartman has many areas of advocacy interest and is very excited to work on the mission of creating a healthier physician community in Nebraska while striving to improve the health of all Nebraskans.

Vice Chair
Grace grew up just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. She earned her Bachelor’s in History and Master’s in Medieval Studies from Fordham University in the Bronx and is still based in New York City.
